Wisconsin documents this subject unusually well in two places and barely at all in a third. WisDOT runs a published maintenance manual that names carcasses by road class. The DNR publishes deer registration and chronic wasting disease rules in detail. Between those sits the homeowner with a raccoon behind the garage, and no state instrument speaks to that at all. What Belongs to the Operator and Not to Us
- Authorization. Nuisance wildlife control is regulated by the Wisconsin DNR, which publishes what that requires. Whether any particular operator needs a DNR authorization, and holds one, sits with that operator. We do not confirm it and no page here calls an operator licensed.
- Disposal. Route depends on species and county, and for deer it runs through the DNR chronic wasting disease rules on where a carcass may travel and be left, plus the treatment of deer carcasses as solid waste. Compliance is the operator's to demonstrate.
- Money and cover. The figure comes from them on the call. The invoice comes from them when the work is done. Their insurance, not ours.
